22 Apr European Team Championships 2016: Day 3
Malta lost 4 – 0 to top seeds Portugal and loses the semi final spot for 1 game in the European Team Championships. In Group B, the men’s national team ended up tied for second place with Luxembourg who had a 1 set difference and thus toppled Malta from an eventual medal placing.
Later in the afternoon, Team Malta went on to win against Gibraltar. Bradley Hindle and Sebastien Giordano both won 3 – 0 whilst Dean Gera secured a 2 – 1 victory. Malta needed just one more set to close the encounter which Daniel Zammit Lewis did. Malta plays Greece for their final match tomorrow.
